Nine years ago the Nevada Board of Pharmacy considered moving hydrocodone to Schedule II, but ended up voting against the plan, according to its attorney, Louis Ling.
Hydrocodone will react as a normal opiate in the available field test kits.
Soma is the nation's most abused non-controlled substance, according to the DEA. Nevada's pharmacy board is considering reclassifying it, making it more difficult for addicts to gather the cocktail's ingredients.
Hydrocodone - a mix of synthetic codeine and acetaminophen - is the most abused prescription drug in the United States, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Walk uncovers meth lab hiding place.
METH LAB UNCOVERED - A meth lab uncovered by a concerned resident was photographed as it appeared Sunday. The citizen, who asked not to be named, said items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine were hidden in a small wooded area near Foulton Creek,Illinois. Illinois State Police were called in to process the scene, and no arrests have been made.
CENTRALIA,Illinois - While taking a stroll through the wooded area surrounding Foulton Creek,Illinois one area resident stumbled upon something he hadn't seen in the woods before - the makings of a meth lab.
The good Samaritan, who asked not to be identified, said he noticed something unusual in the woods a few days prior to the weekend but wasn't alarmed until he found the items were still there on Sunday.
Deciding to investigate, he approached the bright blue bag and found ingredients for a dangerous drug, he said.
According to police reports, two tanks were found inside a duffel bag along with a pitcher, salt and drain cleaner. In addition, reports indicate anhydrous was seeping from the tanks and battery peelings were on the ground.
Police confirmed a meth lab was uncovered about 8 p.m. Sunday north of Walnut Hill Road between Airport and Perrine streets.
The area involved is not rural and is located about 200 yards from a baseball field and 100 yards from a residence, the reporting citizen said.
Someone had attempted to camouflage the area, but a portion of the duffel bag remained visible, he said.
"If he or they hadn't used that blue bag, I would have never seen it," the resident said.
The resident noted the lab had only been placed in the wooded area recently.
According to Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, a combination of stiffer penalties, education and police worked has resulted in an increase in meth lab seizures by 577 percent since 1995, and meth-related arrests increased by 300 percent nationally since 1993.
Marion County,Illinois had a total of 45 meth lab seizures in 2005 and did not record its first seizure until 2001, according to Madigan. The number of meth lab seizures increased from zero in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 to 22 reported in 2002.
